Eighteen year old Sam Bennett from Roydon, successfully passed his Black Belt examination with the Cheshunt Karate Club on Saturday the 17th September. Sam has been training regularly at the Cheshunt Karate Club since joining as a seven year old, eleven and a half years ago. The 2 hour grading was a hard test of physical and mental ability and was conducted before a panel of 4 senior instructors. Chief Instructor Sensei Pell 6th Dan said “Sam’s work rate was phenomenal throughout the grading; he showed an excellent level of fitness and a high degree of technical ability”. Sam is now looking for a club to train at in Wales as he is off to university but hopes to return to the Cheshunt club during his breaks.
